I sometimes dislike going to school because of other students getting annoyed and telling me what to do. Last year, I would shoot hoops on one side of the court because the boys were playing on the other side. A group of girls would sit behind that particular hoop and would ask me to shoot on the occupied side because the basket ball might land on one of their heads. It's not that bad, you know how many times it hit me in the nose? A lot, and it's not unbearable.
Today, girls chastised me in P.E. because I passed the basketball too hard for them (boys and girls were separated). What sucked was I liked basketball a little and wanted to play with the boys but I couldn't. There is a square-like thick pole I decided to bounce the ball off of because I was so bored. A girl asked me, "Can you not bounce it there?" It wasn't even the question that bothered me, it was how she said it. It sounded like a command being given to a subservient being. I just got pissed off.
Anyone hate being told what to do?

Annoying teenage life. I remember it well. There's not a lot you can do. You can suggest that they go elsewhere if they're nervous about getting hit in the head, but it's really obvious that they're just uncomfortable with you being a girl and not doing the things that they think girls should be doing. So they choose to annoy you in hopes that it will pressure you into conforming. It's stupid.
Keep doing your own thing and next time, pass the ball harder. ![]()
high school is horrible. even for NTs. most of them are doing and saying what they think they should and what they think would be cool for their particular social groups. i hated those days. the good thing is, it doesn't last forever and there is a whole world out there after high school where it's not about being cool and trying to blend in. it's also fun to see how the 'cool' girls turn out as they get older. some will get fat and have half a dozen kids who each have different last names and others will try desperately to cling to the days when they were cool and forget to make something of themselves. in the end fitting in at highschool is really not that important. so continue being true to yourself and forget what they have to say. try to go easy on them when you have to play ball with them though. they may be annoying but if you're anything like me you'll feel bad if they get hurt because they aren't as good a ball player as you and you go too hard on them. i actually hated gym so much i just decided i wasn't going to take it anymore and stopped going. i was able to make up the credit elsewhere later on. just make sure to keep your grades up and you'll do well. it confuses people when someone doesn't try to do what everyone else is doing, especially if they are successful when it comes to the important things.
Their request sounds unreasonable given the situation, unless they had to sit near the hoop for some reason. Thus I would conclude that the reason they are actually telling you to move to a side they very well know is in use because, well, they're b!tches.
You can either tell them, if they don't want to accidentally be hit then they should move, you can ignore them, or, you can attempt to befriend them, in which case they may go away to avoid you.
And what would they have done if you didn't run? What was her issue with you bouncing the ball?

Well, I might not get a broken nose from being punched in the face, but it feels like it! Are they meant to get hit in the face so you can play where you want? No offence. But you sound a little demanding there.
As for being told what to do...I don't like it when my mum says stuff like "eat your meat and veg together", mostly because she will not stop picking at me, it's like a chain is unleashed, "sit up", "use your napkin now", "push that potato away from the rim of your plate"...it's neverending! I don't mind one one hand because it's automatic to her and it's sort of like she doesn't realise, but gosh I'm 17! Little petty things like that. I know it's better to eat everything together when you're eating around other people, but I don't want to, 'specially not at home! I've always had that, she knows it.
But stuff like "you have to do this for me" I don't mind, or asking me to run errands, it's not so bad.
