Sites that Require your phone number

Do you ever hate when they have those email inquires where you have to put on your phone number just to send them an email? I mean for those who hate speaking on the phone. I always hate that because I really don't want them to call... especially since they will call and my parents always answer the phone.

This is only an example of what I'm talking about.

I'm talking about things like this that require you to put in a phone number. I mean what's the point? It should be an option if you are expecting them to email you. Do I really need to let them know my phone number? If I wanted them to call me, would I be emailing them? D: It makes me sense to me.

I mean what if the person also doesn't have a phone at the moment and can only provide a phone number? D: I'm not saying we don't have one but these kind of things, don't they make you wonder a bit?

I have a mobile phone, but I usually have it switched off. I can go for a month without making a single phone call.

So yeah, I am always suspicious and wary about sites that want you to divulge lots of information, especially phone numbers. Why do they need that? Usually the sites are overseas anyway - they are not going to waste lots of money phoning me in Australia. So stop with the mandatory phone number already, you websites! And I *won't* give websites my mobile phone number. I don't want calls on the mobile. I just have it for emergencies and the occasional SMS.

I am quite happy never getting phone calls. I don't like making them and I don't like getting them.

I just skip the phone number part if it's optional, but otherwise I just give my cell phone number. That way, I have caller ID letting me know if it's anyone I know. If it's not, then I send it to voicemail. Most of the time, if it's no one important or a salesperson, they don't leave a message.

some websites make the phone number optional. or unless it's important my number is 07777777777

Put a fake phone number, same with emails.
