I know I shouldn't, but I find myself worrying about my social skills a lot recently. Like the other day me and my mum saw my brother's friend in the bus stop, and she's only a year older than me, but my mum was doing all the talking more than I was, where as I should of been talking to her more because she was young like me. I felt my mum assumed I wouldn't chat so she kind of took over the conversation and I got excluded a bit. Now my brother's friend might think I'm not very friendly. I did do a bit of talking but not as much as I could have. But I am more of a listener than a talker, that doesn't make me any less friendlier than others, so long as I smile, make eye contact and speak a few words, which was what I did, and I just hope nobody really noticed.
Also I think I've said some stupid things to the bus-driver I have a crush on. Like he was saying about one of his colleagues leaving who I liked as a friend, and I said, ''oh, she's my second favourite bus-driver''. And I have a feeling that was a bit of a stupid thing to say. Soon these people are going to start thinking I'm a right nutter.
Do you ever worry about your social skills?
