I know my real problem now. All my life, I was interested in math and girls. All I do now in my life is engineering homework and net surfing. It's boring!!    I was a good student, but as more people dated in high school, my concentration started to slip, though now I'm in college. Rejection by girls just makes me hate my life more every day.

Anyone else have this problem that they can't make friends through their special interests? I'm going to try to join the triathlon team this week, hopefully that works.

I feel ashamed that 95% of people dated by 18 and I haven't yet at 20.

I got my first boyfriend at 17, which surprised me, but it only lasted about 3 weeks, and I found he wasn't my type anyway. Now I don't think I will find another boyfriend unless it's a bus-driver (because bus-drivers are my special interest), but all the bus-drivers that I know are married, and if I did go out with someone who isn't a bus-driver, the relationship won't last because my mind is always too full of bus-drivers and I just want one.

On the other hand, I like having bus-drivers as my special interest.

It you are doing a triathalon, you must like running. If so, you should join a running club to meet more women. I'm a member of a local club for fun runners (nothing too competitive) and there's a about 70% women and 30% men.

Don't feel ashamed. Lots of people haven't had dated by the age of 20. :D

This! Also, try and put your focus on making friends of both sexes first. If you're there to scope out girls and that's all you are focused on, others may pick up on this and you may be labelled as creepy. Making friends of both sexes, even just one or two, can demonstrate to women that you're a good person to be around. I know the hormones are there and yes, they make things difficult, but a girl has to like you and trust you as a friend before anything else starts with her.

This misdiagnosis caused me significant stress, which lessened upon finding out the truth about myself from my current and past long-term therapists - that I am an anxious and highly sensitive person but do not have an autism spectrum disorder.

My diagnoses - social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

I’m no longer involved with the ASD world.

Well, I'm more a biker and swimmer. Anyway, I guess that's the problem with a lot of things I try. I care more about finding girls. So I actually have to like it.

I went on a run with the tri team today. It was pretty good.
