You reneged on promise with best friend. What do I do next?

Made an important promise with a friend for the next day. Didn't just back out, but went to do the same with someone else (an old friend, but not nearly as important as your best friend). Basically ignored him to do that. Now what do I do?

ps. this is probably serious, real risk to relationship. Don't think I wanna live if this fucksu p.

Can you put into words, on this thread, an explanation of the thought-processes involved?

Clearly, you are going to either have to face up to your shunned friend, or never dare speak to him again.

Since I assume you don't want the latter, you going to have to have a damn good explanation when you pluck up courage to do the former.

And I would do it as soon as possible, if I were in your position.

In any event, whether or not you can explain to him why you did what you did, the key thing to do is to apologise unconditionally, and wait to be forgiven.

had that happen to me--it was ok to change plans at the last minute but couldn't stand up the other person that plans were made with at the last minute-it was ok to treat me as an afterthought-oh well .
