I am meeting my doctor next Friday. I'm not feeling bad or anything, but lately I've been very uncommunicative and the only thing I do is walking in circles. I also twirl my hands a lot and stare at the ceiling. I haven't spoken to anyone but my family the recent weeks. I am quite nervous, because I don't want my doctor to think I'm a freak. I wish I could be outgoing but I have never managed to be like that - ever. I'm extremely taciturn and reserved. That's me. But what if I can't say a word to my doctor! Then she'll think she has wasted her time meeting me.

Sometimes, when I have an approaching doctor's appointment I will begin jotting notes or bullet points about things I want to be sure to disclose or discuss during the appointment. ( I usually keep those notes on my cellphone so that I can jot them down as they occur to me, and I will be sure the notes are with me when I go to the appointment. )

Sometimes I even just hand the notes to my doctor at the start of the appointment so that he/she can scan them and ask me for more information on whatever they see as most important. That way I am sure they know of all I want to convey, and they can then lead the appointment with questions rather than me having to plan a speech or something. I find it can be a freeing approach.

The kitten in your pic is very cute. You should be honest with the doctor. Whatever is wrong with you they have probably heard it before.

who told you to come
how can anyone just suggest you to go visit doctor.

here we pay through our nose to visit a doctor
and doctors just ask random questions

they will ask you your daily schedule
what you do, what you eat, when you sleep, how is your sleep
i have already mugged up those questions.

based on your output they will suggest you proactive activities
like gym, yoga, healthy foods and exercise
then they will suggest you to meet people

and next visit they will check whether you have implemented things which they suggested
if you havent then counselling is a waste

i've been seeing a therapist the last 2 weeks and my mind and memory is totally shot right now, so i just write down whatever i want to say or ask anytime it comes up so when i meet my therapist i won't be blank.

you can give that a try, it takes the communication right out of communication! really easy to talk if you write it out ahead of time. and even if you can't talk, just hand them the notes and they'll understand.

Don't worry about it. Just tell your doctor everything. I'm pretty sure your doctor will not think you are a freak.

I'm also very reserved. The biggest mistake I make is not telling them everything. Then they don't really grasp how severe my problems are. Thats when they start thinking I'm are wasting their time. So just tell them everything.
