Honestly, I'm sick and tired of it.

I'm 15 and have aspergers. I'm a decent person who treats other's with kindness and respect, but am not a doormat to anyone and will stand up for myself and stand my ground. I am very anti-violence, pro-diplomatic, pacifist, etc. - I wouldn't hurt a fly if you talked to me.

However, I have an issue with people who HAVEN'T talked to me. By this, I mean random people. Random people in the streets.

I'm actually quite decent at reading other people and their body language, and from what I can tell, I seem to come across as some creepy, aggressive little døuchebag. Walking robotically with a cold stare and emotionless face, with my headphones in my head, etc.

Too many times do I get stares and funny looks from people.

I will give two examples from this week:

1. I was taking a relaxing walk like I always do. A little girl was taking a walk with her grandparents and their small puppy. All I did was slightly smile when I saw the puppy because it was cute. Well, she gave me a funny look, before both her grandparents glared in a kind of anger/fear way.

2. I was sitting on the beach listening to music while my friends were swimming. I was watching my stuff and didn't trust the lifeguards to take care of my stuff like my friends did. Anyway, I decided to just get up and move into the shade instead of the hot sun. Well, this one woman stared/glared right at me. I was minding my own business and everything. I was heading her direction a little, so she might have thought I was walking up to her for some silly reason, but even after I sat down behind her family she still looked back and with the side of her eye.

Stuff like this happens to me all the time. Doesn't matter who they are - male, female, adult, kid, black, white, good-looking, unattractive, etc. I will get this sort of unwanted reactions from people.

Does anyone else experience this? Why does it happen? Just what can I do about it?

It is impossible to say what they are reacting to without analyzing you. It could be your body language, appearance, or actions that are inciting the response.

Alternatively your analysis of them could be incorrect. You will have to inquire someone who is close to you to figure out which.
