Hi:
I was wondering how many of you can pick up on someone being interested in your friends based on meeting them one time.

Example:

Last night I went to surprise a friend for his birthday since we had not seen each other for a while. I had learned about the event through another friend of mine. Anyway a bunch of us met for dinner last night at a sports bar. We all sat down together to order and mingle. I was about to catch up with my friend when someone who I had never met showed up.

He turned out to be an acquaintance of my friend's. This evidently is someone who has never really has had time for my friend even though he talks about wanting to get together more. Again last night was the first time that I met him. Upon making an observation I did not like him very much.

1. The conversations were superficial "Yeah we need to get together more often but I have been so busy" He also seemed to put on a front.
2. He seemed to spend more time looking at his phone or talking on it.
3. There was the need to tell my friend how he thinks he should live his life in order to find "The one."
4. He also appeared to insult my friend in playful ways.

I honestly could not wait until he left the scene. My thoughts on this guy were "Oh please go away."

How many of you are able to pick things up even though you don't read the facial expressions or the cues?
