So earlier today I went out to smoke a bowl....and heard some neighbors or a guest they had talking about how they basically rip people off for some kind of construction work. I caught a bit about how they buy/make tiles which costs them about 80 cents a piece and they sell them to people for 12 dollars or more a peice, then of course they make sure their tiles are the only ones that will connect so people 'have' to pay that much or else bad quality roof....well I wanted to go over and give them a piece of my mind f*****g d****head. But yeah went all and on all proud like about how their company rips people off and 'the Mexicans' work so fast 'ha ha ha ha' good thing the other neighbors werent home, those 'mexicans' might have been offended by his stereotypical disrespectful BS he said. Even I wanted to go punch him out, even though I've never done that to anyone in my life....also i am not Mexican or Hispanic but i have friends who are, so it pisses me off if people want to talk crap simply based on that about them.

I probably would have said or done nothing at the time. Instead I would stew about it for the next few days until I could eventually let it go, while making a mental note for future reference about the neighbors' mindset.

are they part of a construction company?

i would absolutely give them a stinking review on some site (if applicable) that's for sure. or letting someone know if there was anyone there.

but there doesn't tend to be superiors there so i just laugh at them in my mind.

good thing you didn't whack the chumps i guess. you'd be the one getting in trouble most likely.

It doesn't sound like they were doing anything illegal, just being jerks.

Here's the thing. Are the tiles of good quality and work properly? Do they get good reviews of their product and the roofing work? THAT is what counts, not the cost of making them or how fast the workers work. If people are willing to spend $12 a tile and buy the interlocking kind, then that's fine. It's the customer's choice to go somewhere else and buy cheaper tiles.

If it costs them only 80 cents to make a tile that people will buy for $12 each, then they are geniuses. They chose to design their tiles so they can't be mixed with other brands...genius. Let them earn their money!

If they can make tiles so inexpensively because they are using slave labor in third world countries, I have an ethical problem with that. But that is a widespread problem not limited to one company.

Good for you. When I see other people doing things like that I always wish I had the gumption.

The reason they are charging $12.00/ sq foot over .80 cent tile is because they can. I am pretty though that if they make that kind of money doing that they would probably afford to purchase the more expensive kinds. I do agree that it isn't ethical to lie to their clients.

As for the reviews I would agree about looking up their company online and write an anonymous review that you overheard them talking about ripping people off.
