Can you elaborate a little? For me, when I'm listening nearby to a conversation, I appreciate being acknowledged because it usually means that people are trying to include me.
Recently, somebody on the forums said that they were taught to acknowledge the presence of those who look them in the eye.
This got me thinking, since I never do that unless I'm also being talked to.
In what situations is one supposed to acknowledge the presence of others, other than during conversations and when greeting friends and neighbors? I never acknowledge the presence of others, outside these two situations.
