Am I the only aspie EVER who was popular in school?

So, I was popular in elementary and middle school and made a lot of friends. Like, I wasn't the bully popular or the football player popular. But I was the "class clown" type in school and made everybody laugh. I had a lot of friends too, although I did not understand some social cues, my friends just thought I was being funny (I did tell some I have aspergers tho, and they didn't bully me at all). I did get bullied in Kindergarten, but that was only kindergarten, nothing else. Did I get misdiagnosed or did I just go to a school full of very nice people?

I was pretty popular in elementary school.

I remember always being accused of being "shy" - I wasn't actually shy or afraid, but small talk just didn't come naturally to me and I wasn't interested in useless banter, same as now. Adults would often say i was shy, but I didn't feel hindered by it.

I was pretty smart and I was popular among the teachers - at the time, it was cool to be friends with teachers and people liked the smart kid. I also had specific interests in common with my friends: animals, specific online games and trading card games, drawing, writing stories. I was clever and organized, so I was usually very good at the video games, very knowledgable about the tips and secrets, my card collections were extensive and orderly, etc, and this attracted people.

Relationships got more complicated in middle school and my popularly died out, but in high school, I started taking classes at the community college and found that I got along with the older crowd much better than my teenage peers!

I was temporarily popular when I got my traintracks brace fitted. Yes, braces were actually cool when I was at school.

The first thing I noticed was that you yourself notice the "cliques". I never noticed those. I just saw everyone as random people clustering together for what I only thought to be interests similar to the ones I had. Popularity usually comes to someone who can demonstrate something to the group, some leadership quality, whether that be bad or good. But in my case, because I never saw myself as part of any group, or never had the desire to be part of any group, I just drifted through school without even knowing the importance of a friend until seventh grade.

I was never popular in school. I was bullied in elementary school and middle school. High school wasn't as bad. I only had one good friend in middle school and high school.

Teachers liked me because I behaved and did my work, but I wasn't one of the students that doted on and worshipped. They preferred the popular kids over me.

You all are lucky to have had plenty of friends and not get bullied as badly as I did.

Also btw, I was one of the students that teachers absolutely hated. There was only 1 teacher that liked me in elementary school. And my ADHD + Aspergers diagnosis did absolutely nothing in the teachers point of view. They kept screaming "PAY ATTENTION RIGHT NOW" to me (I also got ADHD diagnosed when I was 2). The only teacher that liked me in elementary was my 1st grade teacher. Right now, in middle school, my music, PE (also in elementary liked me), and science, teachers like me. So yeah, I wasn't popular at all for the teachers

i became fairly popular among the nerds / arty types because i was very good at art / music and academic stuff but never boasted about it. i got a reputation for being a nice to everyone. also i was a scatter head and would get lost going to the toilet so people took pity on me. lol

i wasnt exactly the leader of the pack but the pack liked and respected me. I've always felt that i was lonely tho - like people liked me and thought i was sweet but wouldn't really engage with me or banter with me like they would among themselves.

@ university i was deeply unpopular and considered a weirdo but i was very "well known". i was again popular with the nerdier/ arty crowd and certainly met people more like myself with whom to joke about nerdy stuff ^^ (basically, all my closest friends were/are on the spectrum and i'v thought i may be too)
