What is a social life?
When I hear the words "social life" these words come up in mind: dating, house parties, clubbing, bars, getting laid, and alcohol. The only social life I have, if you consider it be a social life, is that I occasionally go to a photography club every Thursday and a anime society every Sunday, also video games, anime conventions, and the internet. The rest of my social life is replaced with studying for classes. Most of my social life revolves around what I described above.
I never did experienced a social life, at my first year of high school was peer harassed by the entire school. I was an outcast from the start, I never been to any high school clubs or had any time going house parties or drunk booze (I would have no interest either partying and drinking underage even if I did). I went to a specialized small school for the rest of my high school career, I had a 4.0 average, a few aquantances here and there, but the damage was already done.
Even though I'm at college I'm a f*****g recluse as a result of peer harassment between the 7-9th grades. Even though there are clubs available my college and there's an arcade, the real social life in my college and all universities revolves around going to bars and clubs, dating, getting laid, and boozing and going to parties.
I'm more into academics other than having a social life, if you have to do that to have a real social life.
To be honest to you I rather be a lonely, recluse virgin, because at least I have a college degree and a decent job than being forced into parenthood or landing in jail for drunk and disorderly.
So what is a social life in high school and university?
Is what I'm describing is a social life?
And how do I supposed to get one?
tl:dr. Otaku in college mostly in recluse wants to know is having a social life is what I described as my social life; and if not, what is a real social life? And How to get said real social life. Also describe your real social lives?
I can relate.
Having a social life means hanging out a lot with a lot of friends, talking to everyone, including classmates, visiting clubs, going to parties.
That's pretty much it. Now I read my list above, I must admit I don't have a social life.
How to get it? Just be really, really ''social'', try to enjoy a lot of small talk and act like everyone does. It's not fun, I know all abou it... ![]()

I'm in no position to be giving social advice, but let me just try this on for size.
Can having a social life mean inviting a couple of people over for a game of Scrabble and some pizza? Or going out with a few people for chocolate shakes at a sit-down restaurant?
I don't know. That's my idea of a good time. If you're not into the boozing and whoring, that means you are a few levels above your peers. I say, good for you. That stuff isn't how real friends and relationships are made.
A social life is spending time (hanging out) with people outside of your family, work or school. They can hang out at your house or you can hang out at theirs. Or go to parties, clubs, bars, concerts, the movies, etc.
I don't have a great social life, but I do try to get out and spend time with people.
The necessary and sufficient condition for having a social life is when not only do you call people to suggest meeting but they also call you.
