I was looking through some pictures of friends i used to have. I found myself missing almost all of them.

I started thinking about the reasons we werent friends any more. My best friend christen said she couldnt be my friend because i had to many problems.

And The last best friend Casey said I would never amount to anything and never gave me a real reason for breaking off our friendship.

I keep trying to reconnect with these people. But they dont want me in there lives.

I called my old friend christen and she never answered and never called back.

My old friend Casey answered but was very distant and it was very apparent she didn't want to talk.

I could call both of them but they would probably give me the cold shoulder like before.

I don't understand why this is.

Is there no way for friends to see you've changed and give you a second chance?

Its been years so why keep ignoring me?

some people are too thoroughly rooted in the past to realize that people will change. I am guilty of this transgression, even though I sloughed off the husk of my former self years ago. If s/he's not interested in reconnecting, that's his/her own d*** problem, and it's probably for the best to move on. Tragic as it sounds, things probably won't change until they're willing to do so too.

I think its a blessing in disguise, they don't sound like friends at all.

I agree and you need to face it, it's over.

People never really change, and the only second chance you'll ever have is with a completely new set of friends.

Trust me ... been through it all, several times over.

you've got to reach out to people and not be afraid of rejection or humiliaition. you'd be surprised how many people will appreciate you being welcoming and open to them. if you join a church you can find some friends there. good friends.

That's a good way of looking at it. that probably aren't the best of friends.

I tried meeting people at church but the only people i met were 3 times my age. I am friend with a lady from my church who has sensory interrogation disorder and is on disability like myself . But she is much older then I am and I want a friend my own age.

Where would i find people my own age. I don't go to collage so where do I look?

I have the same problem. I go to events and talk to 45 year old women, bold 30 year old gay men, and maybe a 28 year old chick here and there. 18-25 year old people are so hard to find. BUT my church has a very large youth group, so maybe you can try another church? Maybe your boyfriend can help you find girls to be friends with? Maybe you could start using facebook? It is difficult and many people I know struggle with the same problem.. :(

Sorry, but it sounds like those friendships are over. Don't waste your energy trying to pursue them.

As for meeting others,

I'd suggest evening courses, but they can be expensive and often once the 8 weeks or so finish, you never hear from the others again...

Jobs are another way that people meet eachother, especially voluntary ones (Vincent St Paul, Red Cross, Animal Sanctuaries...)

i say church with a large youth population. come there. tell them you are new and ask them to show you around you will make friends who accept you the way you are - looking in the eyes or not. ;)

yes well I suppose part of my problem is I dont go out much. If I go out of the house more then 3 time a week i risk having a melt down.

I spend most of my day in my room because even being around my room mates can be to overwhelming for me.

I just cant be around people , I think that's my biggest problem.
