I was surprised that no one seemed very understanding. Self injurous behavior is normal in autism and aspergers.
I self injure, but it is usually a sensory thing. I will feel over stimulated and like my mind is floating way outside my body. When I hit my head, or scratch it brings me back so to speak. It isn't very often, and nothing serious (so far as ability for serious injury).
If you are injuring as punishment or due to depression, that is very, very different and you need help immediately. If it is sensory, you need an O.T.

Hurting yourself on purpose is a bad thing.

Now, the problem is, that you've got to figure out what's causing it. Maybe with professional help.

Hurting yourself is dangerous.

The thing is, that most of the time, you hurt yourself, because it's not safe to hurt the person or persons who are causing the frustration behind hurting yourself.

This isn't something you should try to deal with yourself. If your underage, (as bad an idea as it sounds like) you need to tell your parents and ask them to get you help. If you're 18, you need to try to find help yourself. You don't necessarily even need drugs here. Just someone professional to talk to.

Good luck.

Lack of understanding and not wanting someone to cause serious harm to themselves aren't the same thing. Self-injury tends to escalate over time.
