Yes. I'm currently obsessed with a tv programme and I missed the first 9 episodes (it's on every weeknight) and I can't find it to download anywhere, and it's not the sort of programme anyone would put online to be downloaded, and it never goes to DVD, so I'm stuck knowing I've missed my only chance to see them. GAH! It's not making me feel depressed though, just really anxious and frustrated, and it's making me think about it more.

I usually drop those obsession quickly, though now I wish I had any obsession or interest.

Sometimes it's better than having none. ;)

I know exactly what you mean. I wish I could choose what I got obsessed with. Cause then I would be obsessed with this calculus homework thats due in a couple hours instead of with Porsches.

i wish i could change my obsession , but i just cant see it happening. its rediculous, the few people who know my obsession cant understand it, hence nobody wants me to achieve it and without it i feel like im going to be stuck living like this forever with no way out.

have you posted the name of the program you wanted to see, maybe someone else shares your passion and has the episodes you missed on video or dvd. have you called the tv channel and asked when they will do a rerun of the show.

You have no idea how many times that has happen to me. Its fustrating, when I cant get the obsession. Especially when the obsession is people, then that has really screwed me. When I was younger I would get obsessed with people and I would then in turn feel very ashamed of it. But on the other hand if I didnt get the obsession then I would get depressed. It really sucked.

We'd need to know what the obsession is of course. :P

Wanting something and not being able to get it is harsh. We all go through it.

I'm always itching to travel abroad but .. well.. its $@#$ expensive so I can do it once every 3 or 4 years. Sometimes I want to so badly it hurts when I cant.

I believe the trick is to find yourself a 'small' obsession to keep yourself occupied until you can fulfill the big one :)

Yes, it happens and it stresses me out.

You need to develop a complex system of internal rules to handle such things.
