Best of luck in whatever you do zonder.
Personally, I think you were brave to step up and try a job you weren't sure you were capable of and give it your best.
I think you are braver to admit that after giving it your best, you couldn't give any more.

it takes courage to be trusting (not naive) and brave to be accomodating (not a pushover). Courage and bravery you can use daily in life, not just at what ever job you are on. You can take them with you when you go.
