"Best of" Forum

As this site grows bigger and more and more messages are being posted, some really good threads from the past that deserve showcasing are finding there way to the back pages of the forums, hiding from new members unless they should choose to venture back there.

Hence forth, I propose we start a "best of" forum, a forum where the best threads here on WP can be moved to showcase the diversity of thought and new knowledge they brought to WP.

Two example if I was given the chance to move threads would be

I hope that wouldn't mean people couldn't post in those threads anymore. I'm often browsing the "back pages", so to me it doesn't feel all that necessary...

great idea scoots, and I assume you mean the threads should remain active.

it would be easier as a place to point new users looking for opinions also, a lot of topics have already been covered in some detail so stickies for frequently restarted discussions would be good.

Hey! Maybe we should have a *Sticky* of "best of" forums. Just make sure you label the posts' topic!

Um, I think the best of posts coming forward are getting a little excessive to the point of losing some current posts back that don't often get a chance to be replied to by most before moving back a few pages. Why not make a forum for all the suggested posts (have people ask for them in the Best of the Forums stickies) and give them their own forum so people can still reply to the current without going back and looking throug the massive flood of posts come forward by bumping or posting to, etc.

It gets a bit excessively annoying at times looking for people that I wanted to reply to but didn't have time to on a previous visit only to have to go search through a page or more in the general discussions board because someone has replied to posts from weeks or even months back and the current posts go into a forgotten state or unanswered state.

I would hope that maybe this recommendation would be considered. The amount of older posts coming forward are excessive enough to warrant a look at this possibility of a seperate forum for it.

this sounds like it might be a good idea given the number of new members recently, so an increasing number of dormant threads have come forward.
