On Monday, I decided to clean my laptop's lcd screen with what I thought was isopropyl alcohol mixed with water. I now doubt that it was rubbing alcohol mixed with water but it certainly wasn't windex, which is bad to use on lcd screens. When I shine a bright light into the lcd it reflects a yellowish colour, and when my laptop is on the screen is very bright. Is it normal for a yellow reflection when light bounces of an lcd scrren, or did I damage it a little. Over all the functioning of the screen when the computer is on is perfect, I am just really fretting over this.

If it's working, it's good. As for the yellow tint... haven't come across many chemicals that do that...

If the brightness bothers you, you can turn it down by fressing Fn + F5 or F6... it's sometimes different. There ought be a little sun and a little arrow, hit the Fn key and tap the one with the down arrow. Turns the brightness down a tad.

Steer clear of the alcohol for future cleaning jobs. You have a layer of plastic on the top and alcohol can yellow it...it won't kill it or basically decrease it's lifespan...but the more you use it the more it will take on a yellowish cast.

Damp cloth only basically.
