I have had a really tough year. I thought I had a good normal family. I was a generally well adjusted asperger individual, no real bad problems emotionally until everything went to crap this year. It all started when my grandmother died. Then my mom goes all mental and says that my dad didnt support her enough after grandma died. This leads her to the whole idea that he is having an affair. I can tell you that he was flirting with some other women, but I would have too if my wife had basically abandoned me for the past two years. She will even admit that it has been two years since they have been intimate. I think the guy is a saint for not right out cheating. Anyway the way I feel about it, she left us a long time ago. I have 3 older sister who all went off and got married leaving me at home with my youngest sister Melinda, mom always had to take care of grandma, and dad had to work to support us. I have taken complete care of Melinda since I was 10 years old. My childhood was robbed from me because I had to become a parent. Mindy will even tell anybody that her mom is not her parent that I am. I have had to take care of her, change her diapers when she was a baby, feed her, give her medicines, entertain her, everything that a parent should have been there to do. The only time that I had off was when I was in school and that only lasted 5 years till Mindy entered the same school that I did. I had to watch over her there because of all her health problems, she had terrible asthma and I had to give her breathing treatments three times a day while she was at school. Then I had to come home , clean house , watch Melinda, help her with her homework, sometimes I had to cook for both of us.(Thank God for Mac and Cheese and Chef Boyardee or else we would have never survived) Back to this year. The fighting has escalated to the point where I can do nothing. I have to sit here and listen to everything and all the crap coming from their mouths I dont know what to believe. I have heard and seen so much this year that I basically feel like crying all the time. I have to constantly find something to take my mind off what is going on around me. And just when things seem to be going ok and they are not fighting, something comes up and there is another explosion of fighting, cursing, everything. I feel like my world has crumbled and I am more incomplete and alone than I ever was as a child. I guess since grandma is gone there is nothing holding them back anymore. I think that mom has spent all these years trying to be a martyr, because she has spent all those years taking care of grandma while her sister did nothing. Now that grandma is gone, she is trying to be a martyr saying how bad my dad is. All I can say is that she left us a long time ago, and I am sick of having to hear all their crap everyday of my life. I am beginning to hate people, I just want to go and be left alone by everyone. What do you all think?

It sounds like you had a dysfunctional family. Your mother had you be a mother to your sister instead of a sister when it was her job to take care of her, not you.

It's okay for parents to have their child watch their younger siblings but having them do it 24/7 is not okay.
