Okay, well...this is like a four-pronged post, but...I'm going back to school in less than a month, so I thought I'd make this post, and look for feedback, but anyways:

1) Roommate:
Last year, my roomy was nothing but an a-hole because he thought he could walk all over me. My question is: What ground rules should I lay down with my new roomy? Let me describe some of the problems I had with last year's roomy:
a) He seemed to forget all about me and my feelings once he got a girlfriend--kinda hard to set a rule for that, isn't it?
b) I bent over backwards for him when he had his girlfriend, and simply asked him once to give me a 1/2 hour notice when he needed to "comingle" with his girlfriend. Instead of calling me in advance, he waited right outside my room with his g/f, told me I had a 1/2 hour to get out, meanwhile they were getting into each other outside the room, making me feel like some sort of hindrance to them, and thoroughly embarassing me. It was a big mess. He once kicked me out of the room when I had work to do that was due at midnight that night.--a solution to this would be "call me in advance, or forget about it," but this seems too harsh. Suggestions?
c) I don't drink, and two years ago I had some floormates who were trying to force me to drink. I'm not saying that my new roomy is like them--he seems to be much more considerate--however! What steps could I take to make sure he doesn't try to force me to drink?
d) If I see him (my old roomy) again, how do I deal with him?

2) Ex-girlfriend
How do I deal with seeing my ex again?

3) Ex-girlfriend's friend
The problem that I have with most people I run into is that once I want to cut someone out of my life--because they've screwed me over, or because I plain don't like them--they continue to try to be my friend and talk to me. How do I avoid this?

4) Where are all the "good" people in the school? Sure, I've got one good friend, but why is it that when I meet other people, they screw me over? I just don't get it? >.<

I hope I didn't frighten anyone away. You don't have to answer all of them; I'd just like an answer to the first one, actually.
