I'll tell my side of depression and see if the main points is simular for other Aspies relating to No social life, single life, no one who can relate to your interests, etc.

My interests is Cartoonish Humor weither it's slapstick, surreal, Dark, or Satire.
I have the ability to laugh at the world. I feel it's a survival tool because to me, without humor it's a sad, cold and dark life to live in. But my ability will sometimes wear out noticing that I'm the only one laughing at the world and I don't have any backup (aka friends who relate to this interest). So my self-confidence goes down and I become Isselated and feel that my interests aren't going to help me. Then I go into depression whiching that I had friends that can relate to my love of my interests and even a life partner.

Sometimes going back to the interest and talking out loud as if you were giving a leture to a class or having a conversation as if you had a friend right next you, it might help only a little bit and then again, it might not.

Then you start to feel negitive towards people that are in your life like your parents, random people walking by, and as soon as you hear someone yelling in anger even if it's not towards you, you just want to scream out something random to them just to top the pain is greater that there's is.

Does this feeling ever happens to you fellow Aspies?

I'm the opposite of depressed right now. The second option is actually exactly how I feel right now....complete with the "weeeee" part....

I am a bit manic right now. Today is a happy manic day as opposed to a pissed-off manic day.

I'm starting to take care of my bills now even though I'm still living with my parents. Which kind of sucks because each and every time I get a bill, I have to let my father know and explain things to him. Sometimes he can be impationt and I start startling. It Sucks.

Plus I found out that I'm 54 on the list of appartments so who knows when I'm ever getting in.

Is the reason of Aspies with depression is because of the lack of social life and love life?

Since learning about AS I was feeling pretty great. I finally understood myself for the first time and I was content with my life. I had a job that was starting soon and things were looking up. Then I found out that the job's not happening so I have to magically find something else, and I lost my last remaining friend. To top it all off I've had a headache for a week now, so I've been quite unhappy overall. I'm hoping this mood (and headache) passes soon because I've spent all my life in a funk and I was so happy to be out.

That sounds like me too. I'm always negative and sarcastic, even when I'm in a good mood. It's really annoying sometimes when I say something before thinking about it and then I feel bad and wonder why I'm always so negative.

Well, right now is a pretty bad time for me. I'm losing my friends, I don't feel connected to the ones I have, my boyfriend just isn't that into me (stupid new york times bestseller) and I have low self-esteem because I'm living with my dad to get through graduate school. I understand feeling negative about everyone. I wrote a journal entry last week in which I basically ranted about every person I know. I cried all last Wednesday, and I really hope today doesn't have a similar fate. I have too much work to do.

To be fair, people who view the haven are probably more likely to be depressed than people who don't, so the poll isn't necessarily representative of the aspie population. That means we can get better. Yay.

I noticed that interests are the strongest forum of positive thinking for Aspies. I'm interested in Humor, mostly Satire and I always thought that Aspies are always the most perfect Satirists because they hate the world so much like I do. LOL Plus I'm a Cartoonist and Puppeteer so my humor is even more Dark and Twisted. LOL
