Sometimes I think this would be a good idea, at least for me. I think it would be easier to get cained or whipped for screwing up all the time, rather than having to remember to never make the mistake again. If it left a bruise, cut or scar or simply just hurt for a few hours...I think I'd be less likely to make the same mistake again, and I'd probably be on pretty good behavior for a while.

It's just a random idea that pops into my head a lot. I mean they pay me all this money to do my job right....not screw up all the time. I think it would be pretty effective in helping me get my act together.

Maybe I've really lost it, but then again....when I was a little kid it worked pretty well.

The only problem I have with that is that some adults like it.. a lot.. and I am one of them. I would make more errors on purpose because of it. It's sexual for many people and you would see a lot more people complaining of sexual harrassment. I would not complain, but some would.

Aspies have nervous systems sometimes where pain converts to pleasure and pleasure converts to pain. For example, light touch makes me want to scream and any form of heavy pressure (including being hit hard) makes me feel good.

Don't take life so seriously. It isn't permanent!

It wouldn't be sexual for me. I still experience pain, it's not pleasure for me at all. There's nothing pleausrable about your knuckles being hit with a ruler when you messed up in school. Although the pain does havea claming effect on me.

I'm just trying so hard to not self-injure for the time being, since I have a new doctor and I'm trying really hard to be "normal." So I didn't bang my head on my desk or rip out a clump of hair........ it just made it worse I think.

I would like to see how this would work in the age of virtual offices and at-will employment. I think a company that tried to implement such a system would have a very difficult time obtaining and retaining workers. Especially in a country like the USA where you have the right to quit your job at any time and you can start your own business anytime you want.

Closest you'll find is either getting into BDSM, an abusive marriage, or voluntarily submitting yourself into slavery(?!)
The ethical and legal guidelines of what you're suggesting unfortunately mean you'll have to do life without getting hurt for screwing up.

Yeah I know. It wasn't a practical idea or anything. It would never work in actual practice. I guess it would mean having to just work harder to not screw up at work. I mean it was easier when I was a kid when I knew if I did something wrong or made a mistake I was going to get the crap beat out of me...it put fear in me. Without that fear, I think I screw up a lot more.
