I don't know if I've written about this before, but...

I recently (6 months ago, I think) graduated from college. i have been searching for a job ever since. There's someone across the road who works at the United Nations and is trying to find me a job. My parents tell me i should be grateful for this...but!

A) When I first applied there for a different position, she took nearly a month (and she lives right across the street and speaks frequently with my mom, most oftentimes telling my MOM about what she wants done, and not me!) to get back to me, while I was waiting around for the UN to get back to me, only to tell me I wasn't even going to have an interview.

B) I told her I was going into to interview for another position in the UN this Wednesday (TOMORROW!) and she still hasn't told me, as of 5:35 PM, who the heck I'm even supposed to talk to, much let alone tell me where the United Nations itself is to begin with. These people know I'm coming in to see them on Wednesday.

C) Before you even start telling me that I "need to follow up," I have called her twice...once yesterday, and once today, asking where the email was. I have YET to hear back from her.

D) This is has been causing me absolute misery as I do not like saving things until the last minute (in fact, looking at my previous emails with her, she doesn't get back until 4 AM for most correspondence. 4 AM! One hour before I wake up!)

E) This whole thing REEKS, to me, although perhaps it's just me :-p, of someone who is very unprofessional. While I like her as a person, if I were her boss and she acted like this at work, i would have fired her by now. (OH, you have a project due on Monday...and then she gives it to me 4 Mondays later is what it feels like)

F) Because of this undue amount of stress it is causing me, I honestly really no longer wish to work at the United Nations. My parents call this whole thing an "opportunity;" I call it "Hell."

Hi, Im sorry for all your negative fuzz experiences around this job apply.
I know that for aspies like us its important to have things clear and straight. I was thinking about your mum in this. Does she understand you and all your stress around this?
If she talks regularly to the woman accross the street then she could be the one to also say that her son needs clear information about work at UN.

You should start talking to your parents first so they see and understand how this "opportunity" have impact on you. Once you got them with you its easier to find solututions for the situation.

If you after all manage and have the courage and find the correct place to enter the interview tomorrow, then I wish you great Good Luck!

I am 35 and am yet to ever really hold a "real" job. It sounds like you have one heck of a job lead to me! Be grateful!
