Anyone use Cakewalk Sonar?

I wasn't sure whether to post this in the Music area or the software area, but I just downloaded the demo of Cakewalk Sonar 8 Producer, which is an all-in-one music studio program. If anyone here is familiar with either Sonar 8 or a previous version, I'm needing help in causing the sound to work when play a MIDI file. I've used Logic (2.0) for years, so I know how to assign MIDI instruments to tracks and do the basic setup, yet after doing these things in Cakewalk, it still is not producing any sound.
Anyone have any pointers about this, or possible reasons for MIDI sequencers not playing back properly?

Erm...I had Cakewalk 16, but it was DOS-based (woops, just revealed my age...

There's probably a Cakewalk forum out there, that'd be a good first step.
