Oh. I thought you were talking about stuff like strawberries and red meat (which are both awesome)

Instead, it's synthetic crap.

So, no. I try to avoid anything artificial like that.

If crushed bettles make red food taste nice, bring it on ;)

The bug-dye is at least from nature. But I think there should be stricter requirements on telling us what they are putting in food so we have a choice. WARNING TO CONSUMER: CONTENTS COLORED WITH BUG JUICE

this is a great way to look at things.

it never bothered me before, why should it now. Just because i know about it doesn't change things. still not giving up my candies.

Some bugs taste great, like grasshoppers... but i have not eaten one (on purpose) sense i was little.

There are a lot of things like that with food that people don't know. Some much worse than this. It doesn't really bother me to know. For the most part, if it's edible, it tastes good and doesn't cause cancer, then why not? To be honest, I'm much more suspicious of synthetic stuff.

I am not too worried about the bugs. I am more worried about the aluminium they add to salt as an anti-caking agent. Aluminium compounds are also used for anti-perspirants (as opposed to deodorants, those are different).

I always purchase aluminium free (anti-caking agent free) salt. Is the aluminium safe? Who knows, but I am not taking the risk just for a stupid anti-caking agent that is not even necessary -- the salts without the anti-caking agent flow freely enough for me (and I even live in a place with fairly high humidity), therefore there is no need to take the risk.
