but this kind of just flowed out of my brain, so I figured I'd share. I don't care if it's good, or if it's bad. I like it and it holds a message in my mind, and to me that is all that matters.

Life is Good.

Never hate your life
cuz you make your life
and you can make it right
No more cryin at night
no more telling these lies
No more tryin to hide
from the ones on your side
These are hard times
but if you keep it in line
then you could possibly find
that what goes on in your mind
ain't what's goin wrong in your life
but it's telling you what's right
saying you gotta fight
Fight for what you hold true in your heart
and never stop once you start
just keep playin these cards
that life dealt you and it's hard
I know but you gotta have heart
and keep your s**t smart
be who you are
and you will go far.

for what its worth it beats the living daylight right out of ALL goth poetry ive ever been exposed to.

and at your age it's a good start.
maybe you should try some more? experiment with different styles perhaps. expaand your vocabulary.
there's so many cool techniques you could use to improve something's sound.

and realistically, there's bands popping up everywhere these days.
what are music lyrics but simply poems with added added instrumentals?

one way to look at practical writing anyways.

It's true. Like honestly when I was writing that I imagined it being rapped to the tune of Eminem's Cleaning Out My Closet. lol
This wasn't meant to be technical, or overly intellectual though, but if I do something that required an expanded vocabulary, then I use my talents in that department.

personally i write a bit. and i started around your age. well, seriously anyway.
over the last year or so it's just turned into a good way to vent and as an outlet.
besides that, there's always a feeling of accomplishment when you've written something meaning, if even to yourself.
over the past 3 years my writing has improved greatly too. prolly because it turned into a habit.
and it usually helps with my poetry writing to listen to music while i'm at it. sets a mood and gives my thoughts direction.
lately i've been told i should either maybe consider publishing or even become a lyricist.
just goes to show you never know what might come of things.
