I recently took the MMPI as a part of my diagnosis process. When I took it twenty years ago, it was much easier. I had the certainty of youth. Now I’m a lot less certain about everything. The first question for example, they’re all T/F, “My father was a good man.” Well, what do they mean by “good man?” My first response to half the questions was, “Compared to what?” One of the questions was, “I’ve made some terrible mistakes in my life.” Well, what do they mean by “terrible?” I’ve made some mistakes. Everybody does. This test sure was a lot easier when I was more sure of everything.

The stupidest thing I’ve ever done? Well, I don’t think I’ve done anything stupid, ever. I’ve made some mistakes, like not working harder in college or on my marriage. But these were all learning experiences. All right, getting drunk and wrecking my car in high school, that was a little stupid, but I haven’t done it again.

Remember what Forrest said.

“Stupid is as stupid does.”

I actually wanted George W. Bush to become president back in 2000. It's a good thing I wasn't old enough to vote.

Boy, where do I start......

When I was 13, I would be alone at home for a few hours after school. So I wasn't supposed to go outside for any reason since I was by myself until my mother came home from work. Of course, I was playing outside all the time but I was always careful to be inside by the time she got home so my mother wouldn't know a thing.

Well, on one windy day, I got the idea to fly my kite in the driveway, even though there wasn't much room to get it air-borne. I step outside and when I close the screen door, the wind slams it shut, making the locking mechanism, which was defective, jam. I pull on the door and it won't open. The back door had bars all across to keep people from breaking in and all the windows were nailed shut so the front door was the only way in.

So here I am, crying, knowing I was in deep trouble not only for being outside but for locking everyone else out. My mother finally comes home and, of course, I can't tell her the truth about why I was outside. I tell her I lost a quarter and I was looking for it. She, somehow, by jiggling the door handle, unlocks it. And she says, "This has got to be the stupidest thing you ever did!"

One night in college I stayed up all night riding my bike in the empty parking lot. When I returned to my dorm, I decided to go to church, a place I had not been in six years. So I showered, put on some nice clothes and rode my bike to a local church. For some reason, I decided that attending a service wasn't enough. I needed to go to Sunday School. So there I was, sitting in a sunday school class, trying to pretend like I knew the bible by heart, and not having slept for 24 hours. Needless to say, I had enough of church and decided to duck out before the service.

But wait, that's not all. Since it was a Sunday, and a beautiful day, I decided to go over to the park. When I arrived, I decided I wanted to play on the swings. While I was swinging, a number of items fell out of my pockets, including the key to my dorm room, something I failed to notice until after I woke up the next morning.

By the way, no drugs or alcohol was involved in this adventure.

I lost the money order for my rent once, it was not filled out and someone in the 'hood took it and used it. I was working too much and not getting enough sleep. It made me careless, I guess. I had it safety pinned inside my uniform pocket, but it must have torn loose.
I will never forget how scared I was that my child and I would lose our home. Rent took almost everything I earned in a month as it was. I felt like such a screw up.

You seem to be going from one extreme to the other. You are going from opening your heart too quickly to never opening it ever again. Both are bad.

I think that you need to find a proper balance between these 2 opposite extremes. That is, you CAN safely open your heart, but give it plenty of time before you do. You might need to know someone for several years before you decide that opening your heart to them is a good idea. So do not reject the possibility of opening your heart, but do not rush into it either. It takes plenty of time to get to know someone properly.

Well, yes, in many respects she is still a teenager. We're all developmentally delayed here. Late bloomers.

I'm still a Teenager and I'm almost 32. There aren't very many London-Minded Mods who are in their early 30s.

There was quite a few stupid things I have done I am not sure what is the stupidist, but I can think of one at school chemistry class, I wanted to see what would happen if it put a sample of every chemical from the chemisty cupboard and put it all in a very large beaker then I heat it all up on the Bunson burner. Bad idea, there was not an explosion (lucky for me) but a fountain of green froth went everywhere and I had to stand well back for it to all calm down.
