This may very well be the greatest video game system known to man. Afterall, the DS is the greatest handheld, and the Wii seems to be taking the same route that the DS took. Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3 (oh, wait, I'm still pissed off for never having beaten the first Prime game...), Smash Brothers Brawl, there's so many games I want to try out! Plus the Virtual Console should have a decent selection and the complete backwards compatibility with the GameCube means those millions of people who skipped buying the Cube (in other words, everyone except me) can play all the good games from that system. Did anyone here actually get to go to E3 to test out the controler? It sounds really cool but it could also have some potential bugs so I want to know how well the demos went. I've marked my calendar for September 14th, when we shall find out which day to mark our calendars again for when to buy the Wii.

I don't see the big deal. I'm not very interested in any of the announced games--they're all much to "cute" for my tastes. I like games that are darker, grittier, and more complicated, not cutesy and cheesy and simplistic. I just never liked Nintendo's style of gaming. The ONLY game I've seen for Wii that looks at all interesting to me is Red Steel, and I can imagine even that getting either too dull or too difficult. Meanwhile, Xbox 360 has Mass Effect, Dead Rising, Gears of War, etc. and PS3 has Metal Gear Solid 4, Resident Evil 5, Assassin's Creed, Devil May Cry 4, Eight Days, etc.

Plus, is making control "more real" really all that great of a thing? I mean, one of the reasons why I play games is to do things I can't do in the real world, and I sure as hell wouldn't be a good swordfighter in the real world, even after training. I want to play games where the combat and control is more cinematic and heroic, and less realistic.

The Wii simply has very little to offer to someone like me.

I guess you're more of a mature gamer.

I like certain games like Mario and Sonic, and if someone calls me a baby...

I think the new controls are a bit of a gimmick, and I can't see why most people wouldn't get tired of having to wave their arm around just to play a simple game. Although I am interested in the new Zelda game.

The idea behind the controls, is to sell the concept that they're adding physical activity to the game playing experience. So they can sell the Wii to those obnoxious parents, who like to blame video games for children getting fat.

I can't wait for the Wii! I have it pre-ordered. I am a bit choaked by how expensive a seperate Wiimote is going to be with the nunchuk, but I'll cope.

I'm looking forward to games being more physically interactive and casual. November 19th can't come soon enough. My DS Lite will hold me off until then. I wonder how the DS Lite will work with the Wii?

I hope they put Namco wises up and puts Katamari Damacy games on the Wii, not the PS3. PS3 will be way too expensive for me. Besides, the only PS2 games I like are the DDR ones and Katamari games. DDR helps keep me fit and somewhat co-ordinated, so shut it :-P.

Eventhough Ill probably end up buying a ps3, Ill give Nintendo cred for trying to do something develope console gaming, instead of doing the same thing over and over again, just with better system specs, like Sony and Microsoft. The formula set down by the NES hasn't changed much over the last 20 years.

Nintendo revolutionised gaming with the NES, but you couldn't really see the real effects of it until several years later, and I suspect it will be same thing with the Wii. It'll be outsold by the ps3 and probaly the 360, but future console development will owe jack s**t to Sony and microsoft. Motion-sensing is the f*****g future!

I'm very much looking forward to zelda...

Oh and mario galaxy...

Don't know what it is, my reality is so dark, my music I'm immersed in is so dark, that in a game I want a magical fantasy world to escape to...

Oh and anyone here finished FF3?

I kept getting upto a certain part and was going to go through it all again...

Favourite game for me of all time? Chrono Trigger
