Oh, well. Typical me. I'm an older aspie who has spent my life offending people and not knowing why, until I spend most of my time with family or alone. I don't really want it that way, but I prefer being alone to being with people who don't "get it." I'd love to make aspie friends here, and like kids and pets and have a good sense of humor. I love to write novels and do it obessively; the current one I'm actually trying to publish. I also have a mood disorder just to make things a little more interesting. Right now I live with hub and two young kids in small town Wisconsin. I am originally from Illinois and my grown kids still live there so I go there often (Chicago nw suburb area). I guess I just want people I can talk to; I'm going to try the chat room. IS there a chat room? I didn't even look yet! I have five kids from 27-8 and four are adopted (from other countries, foster care, privately, you name it, and I had one the regular way). One of my adopted kids has PDD. I'm glad I found the right planet for ME. Take care

Hello, I'm new too. I live in Madison, WI with my husband and three sons, two dogs (one is my psych serviced dog), 5 cats, and there's nearly always one or more of my sons' friends staying with us as well. My sons are 25, 24, and 21. Noah, the 25 year old lives with his girlfriend Jesse, Sam (21), and Jonah (24) live at home. Jonah was diagnosed with PDD-NOS when he was four. My own current diagnosis is Bipolar 1 and Personality Disorder NOS. My diagnosis of personality disorder is being reevaluated. I am to undergo neuropsych testing to rule-out aspergers syndrome. I've finally found a psychiatrist willing to look at my whole life in determining a diagnosis. I've been very frustrated by people that didn't consider an accurate diagnosis to be important, since they wouldn't treat me differently anyway. On the other hand this is very important to me. When something has plagued you and reeked havoc with your life for 51 years, just the thought of finally having a name for it seems like a profound blessing.
