No, I really like olive oil with strong olive taste. I only buy the best virgin olive oil from Italy, about $15 for 20 fl. oz. But it should be used in the right kind of food, i.e. typically Mediterranean food. I wouldn't like to fry an egg in olive oil, for instance.

There was a news story about a study in which walnuts are thought to be a major
health benfit in the mediterranean diet. I thought of using walnut oil in something.

Though now that I looked for the story again I see they mention the amino acid content
not the oil as a health benfit.

my bad that a different study

I remember reading a study they did about walnuts that they have anti-depression effect also. Sorry i don't have the link as it was a while ago.

This afternoon i fried onion and green peppers i grew in my garden in extra virgin olive oil and put them on top of my pizza. It was delicious much better than when you order it with the onions and peppers.

This one is easy and healthy, also vegan:

26 oz strained tomato (here it's sold in a carton, Pomi)
1 lg can (28 oz) pink beans, drained and rinsed well
1/2 cup mollasses
1/3 cup olive oil
1 tsp salt
1/8 tsp cayenne

Just mix everything together well & serve over hot rice. :)

Sounds good but I would use NoSalt (potassium chloride, etc) plus I would have to make
sure the tomato and beans did not have alot of added salt.

But combining beans and rice is very wise. I have read a pressure cooker can cook
beans in half the time. So if one soaked beans over night and cooked them in a pressure cooker you could save energy and control sodium levels. They make small
safe pressure cookers now.

I ounce cooked sliced zucchini squash with olive oil and served on couscous.

CousCous is an instant pasta that replaces rice in North Africa. Its precooked/ steamed
and dried. One adds it to bioling water covered and in 5-10 minutes its ready. Fluff
with fork. I see small boxes of it sold at Walmart but I have bought 5lb bulk bags online
much cheaper. I tried the whole wheat type but did not like it much.

I had the idea to buy wheat berries (unprocessed wheat) add to water and heat to
160 for one minute then add citric acid and cellulase. Then allow to stand in a refrigertor
a day or so. The cellulase would break down the other cellulose on the wheat berries. Then strain and wash with fresh water to remove the glucose produced and citric acid.

Then cook. To make a Large couscous. Celluase works better at around 140-150 F so
maybe slow cooking the wheat at 160 F would be better. It might fully cook and remove the cellulose.

Do you eat salted dried fish? I think its scandanavian?
How do you're prepare & cook it?

My recipes:
#1 Pasta with spinach
Pasta shells, cooked per instructions and strain.
In a pan, cook lean bacon peices and onion and the other thing begining with g that has a church (I don't want to mention the G word, in case it summonses its followers), and 250g spinach (I use frozen) 150g Ricotta Cheese, 150g sour cream, and 50 ml milk. Mix togehter until warmed thru, stir thru pasta. Serve with parmezan cheese.

#2 "Road-kill chicken"
Spatchcock a chicken (cut out the backbone and flatten), BBQ over coals (preferably with a cover over the BBQ), inside facing down to start. I call it road-kill because the chicken is flattened and charred looking. Serve with baked vegetables.

#3 Jamie Oliver pizza
Make your own pizza base and top with something healthy.

I love making this dough.

This sounds good. I've heard of fried spinach. So I'm assuming the Italian way would be
to cook fresh spinach in pork fat drippings from some rendered pork meat. Oh we just
had an e coli out break in some bagged fresh spinach in the US. I think the FDA saids its
safe to eat again. But if cooked there would be little danger.

I still eat cheese but its one of those things high in sodium.

I'm hungry just thinking about this dish.

take some whole wheat bread, vitamins, milk, fish, meat(preferably cooked),peaches, fruit, onions, tomatos, liver and put it in a blender. set to blend and drink up when smooth and slightly clumpy. eat with side of celery and one chocolate chip for dessert.

Gummy candy project:

I took a 340 ml frozen concentrated grape fruit cocktail thats in a container design to
thaw in the microwave. I heated it till a liquid. Then I added 3 x 7 gram packets of
non-flavored gelatin. I then heat it more. You do not need to get it boiling. Just hot
enough to dissolve all the gelatin. You can tell by licking the stirring spoon. If it has beads of geletin stuck to it needs to be hotter.

I think it has a bit too much water but it was very solid and a little chewy anyway.

I plan to do it again with 100 % frozen concord grape juice and perhaps adding
more acid to it. The strong tartness of the juice seems to be killed by the gelatin.
But maybe too much acid will prevent the gelatin from setting up firm.

I buy these sour gummy worms at walmart and I think they are coated with an acid mix
on the outside.
