Alfred Nobel (1833)
Nobel was a Swedish chemist and engineer who invented dynamite, the smokeless powder Ballistite, and an explosive gelatin more powerful than dynamite. In his last will, he left his enormous fortune in trust for the endowment of the Nobel Prizes, which continue to recognize outstanding achievements in the fields of science, literature, economics, and peace.

Timothy Leary (1920)
Leary was a famous psychologist, writer, and controversial proponent of the drug LSD in the 60s. He argued that LSD could alter behavior in unprecedented and beneficial ways if used in the right setting, with the right dosage, and preferably with the guidance of professionals. His position as a symbol of the counter-culture movement made him a target of a criminal investigation and a focus for the debate about drugs in society.

John is from the UK. He is comfortable speaking to people, but still has difficulty with eye contact. He enjoys swimming and time with his dog.

That pretty much sums me up MrMark. Also, I like to walk, and wish to have a true friend. I'm also developing with eye-contact now, and have pretty much mastered it when talking to NTs. I can determine NTs body language in all.

Besides now today it's my birthday. :D

Pelé (1940)
Pelé is considered by many to be the world's greatest football (soccer) player. As a striker for the Brazilian team, he scored more than 1,000 goals over the course of his career and became the only player to win three World Cups with his team. His playing style was marked by superb ball control and great tactical ability. Waldemar de Brito, who scouted Pelé, predicted the then-15 year old would become "the greatest football player in the world."

SamuraiSaxen is from Mexico and joined WP five weeks ago. She was a very bright child, and started school before she was four years old. She is occasionally irritable, but often patient. She is normally very quite and daydreams a lot. She likes spiders.

You remembered it, Thanks MrMark :) .

Antonie von Leeuwenhoek (1632)
He improved the crude microscopes that were being produced in Europe to better study small biological objects.

Johann Strauss II (1825)
Strauss was a world-renowned Austrian composer best known for his waltzes, such as The Blue Danube. The son of a composer, he formed an orchestra in 1844 that was immediately successful and rivaled that of his father

Charles Atlas (1892)
Angelo Siciliano, better known as "Charles Atlas," was dubbed "The World's Most Perfectly Developed Man" in a NYC contest in 1922. Siciliano had been a small and weak child, but, inspired by the strength of a tiger at the zoo, he built up his endurance by working muscle groups against one another. Atlas went on to achieve phenomenal success marketing his "dynamic tension" fitness methods, now generally known as Isometric exercise.

Werbert (c. 1985)
Werbert is a twentysomething professional student with AS from the United States. He has no job and no friends and a vitriolic hatred of a certain current US President and his gang of thugs. He also hates the sound of sniffing, saliva, nasal breathing, and peppy radio DJs. He also hates the godforsaken state in which he currently resides.

On the brighter side, he enjoys the TV show 24, the Boston Red Sox, and many types of music. He also has nearly every episode of Babylon 5 on tape and a large (by his standards) collection of books about history. He also cannot pass up a good chocolate cake. To pass the time, he works on a science fiction novel, which is nowhere near completion.

Ida Tarbell (1857)
Tarbell was a journalist who achieved fame for her work at the turn of the 20th century. She was a leading muckraker, or an investigative journalist committed to exposing the unethical practices of large corporations. Her reporting for McClure's magazine led to the breakup of the Standard Oil monopoly and is seen as a model for journalism today.
