If Im not mistaken Paul McCartney, and a number of other artists, got together to salute McCartney's fallen fellow ex-beatle John Lennon with a single called "the Late Great Johnny Ace". A double meaning title to a musical salute to both John Lennon and one of Lennon's R+B antecedents.
