What genre would be appropriate for an Aspie novel?

Sci Fi comes to mind as the most aspergian genre, but do anything you want-hybridize genres.

Rewrite a classic with the protagonist as an aspie.

Take away King Lear's hunchback, and give him aspergers.

I would also say sci-fi, but to be frank(enstein), I'm not that warm to the whole concept of genre, it feels too limiting. Plus I have some bad experience with TV Tropes, a site built on genre.

If you're considering theme over plot, then maybe "literary fiction" (if that counts as a genre).

Fantasy or science fiction. Make the character being autistic/AS just another part of them like their hair or eye color, give them a personality, likes and dislikes and protray them as a character and not another stastic or sterotype. Have a plot that the reader will find exciting. I don't know, something like getting trapped in or discovering a paraleel dimension and something where the autistic/AS character uses their autism to save the day (or the universe). I always thought Cale from Titan A.E. was an exelent example of a fictional autistic/AS character.
