Fantasy or science fiction. Make the character being autistic/AS just another part of them like their hair or eye color, give them a personality, likes and dislikes and protray them as a character and not another stastic or sterotype. Have a plot that the reader will find exciting. I don't know, something like getting trapped in or discovering a paraleel dimension and something where the autistic/AS character uses their autism to save the day (or the universe). I always thought Cale from Titan A.E. was an exelent example of a fictional autistic/AS character.
