Is there a difference between 'favourite' and 'the best'?

I like your thoughts about Stairway to Heaven. I do think I like Led Zeppelin in general, but the first time I heard Stairway to Heaven was after I've heard so much about it, so I thought it was a let down to all the expectations I had from it. So then, I was sulking for years when it came to 70s rock, and only learnt to like it much later, which is interesting, IMO.

There is no best when referring to music. It's all a matter of personal preference.
I think my favorite band is the best but others would hate them.

For me it's a general dislike of the song. I like to think that I might like it at one point, but I doubt it will ever happen.

That's the great thing about music, actually. Its quality cannot be quantified.

It's so amazing when you find someone who shares the same fascination with a band or artist.
