My location was 1977 London for couple of weeks.

I've changed my location back to 1965.

How about watching movies that make you laugh? Get a few DVDs of your favourite movies, a box of your favourite choccies, bottle of wine or whatever you like, chill out and enjoy! I'm sure you'll soon get your chirpy spirit back CR :)

How about this. I'm not sure if it'll improve your mood, but it's all true.

I looked up Routemaster on Wikipedia, to confirm the exact time period, and jog my memory.

I vaguely remember the RM coming out. At the time I was doing the "bus-spotting" game. I'd already being collecting RT numbers and, as a treat, RTL and RTW numbers, for some time. I'm not sure if I ever finished off collecting all the early RM numbers; almost certainly not. In fact, I think they put me off the whole process. They were taking the RT buses out of service faster than I could finish off collecting them!

I do recall getting "Red Rover" tickets most weekends, so I could tour all around London to the bus garages. I also tried my hand at collecting the single decker green buses, but that was too expensive, although I did a some touring on the fringes of London.

Hm. Recently I've been answering questions like "do you collect things" by say "no". Stupid. I've always collected things! From the same childhood period as the bus-spotting, I guess:

*) Huge Bayko set.

*) Another building kit - I can't recall what it was called, but it had "real" bricks (tiny plain rectangular things - an inch long? - great for choking on) that you stuck together with a pasty glue stuff (a bit like printer ink cartridges... you kept having to buy more glue, and it wasn't cheap!). You took your buildings apart by soaking the whole thing in water. Sometimes the bricks broke.

*) Huge Meccano set.

*) Plastic soldiers. I particularly liked it when they came out with packets that contained dozens of them. I must have had near a thousand, all told. You were supposed to paint them. I never did (except sometimes, just for the wounds).

*) Books. Still do. Still have. Mostly SF. About 1,000 novels and a few hundred magazines. I think the earliest are some "Galaxy" magazines.

I'm sure I collected many other things - in fads.

One thing I know I've always enjoyed collecting, and I never intend to stop collecting: knowledge. Hopefully a bit of wisdom too.

I've tried the movie idea, and it worked. I've planed to watch some movies, last night. I've bought myself a copy of Flushed away, a bag of Easter Hershy Minis, boiled some tea and watched the movie. I've only had time for the one movie, but I've noticed a tremendous improvement in my spirits. I think that I should watch at least one movie on each of the evenings that I'm home.

EastEnders is utter rubbish. Much of every single episode has the character's shouting, hurling insults and slapping each other. "You slappa!" is the height of sophistication on that show. Coronation Street is a little better but even so, Mancunians aren't really like that.

I love Cornation Street! I used to watch it, all the time. :) I still watch it, when I remember to.

I've read all of your responses and you all have really good answers. I'm also finding my own answers to my question, as well. I'm trading in my stiff gel and studded bracelet, for a newsboy cap and that Routemaster necklace that I've made out of a key lead and key chain, and I'm going to walk throgh the main local mall, in my town. I'll type another post in this thread, after my experiment, tomorow morning. :) I'll give you an update. Maybe if I dress pleasant and friendly, I'll feel pleasant and friendly.

I've failed The Mall Test, very badly. My hair was as natual as can be, and I was wearing my favourite red cap with the mirrored polka dots. I was doing fine, until I've walked into a Hair Salon to look at the different hair products. And than it happened...I've found some coloured hair glue. I've purchased a tube of the silver stuff, and than I've walked into the women's restroom and put some in my hair. My conscience told me that it wasn't a big deal, people change, and the city changes people. That I was still the same inside, as I always was. That was also enough to get me back into the Cockney Spirit. I can't go back to being that cutesy Mop Top that I was last year, but that doesn't matter, because I know that I'm a good person on the inside.
