Hi,

I have just registered on Wrongplanet.net, as usual, using my first name instead of an alias/avatar, and my email adress, as well as msn .net passport also contain this and more. I think I would find it rather strange to discuss very personal matters under another name, but that may just be a personal preference, and I don't mind other people on the site knowing who I am, should they know me through another context, nor do I mind other people not using their real names. However, I would not like my posts to show up to the 'unsuspecting' surfer, ie, in the google results for my name, or a likely combination that might arise in my psots, eg "Name, City, Interest", or "Name, Uni, Course".

Is the site, and are posts in the forum indexed by google or other search engines? (Only those which respect robots.txt etc, of course, I don't mind if it is theoretically possible to index the forums, I would just like to know if it happens in practice). What other privacy concerns are there?

Most of the site is searchable by Google, except for the Members Only and Mature Issues forums - if there is something you don't want to share with the world, thats the place to do it. :)
