In other words, I was being a cheeky little bugger and joking around. Ayiyiyiyiyi, the vocabulary of the younger generation.

What does that word mean 'ayiyiyiyiyi'?

It's a non-specific term of exasperation.....

There are interlibrary loans. There's also a decent amount of information on the web.

I know. I too can be facetious. Maybe even ironic.

Nah. The big money's in writing graphics software. There are plenty of people with lots of ideas.
I'd suggest looking on the web, and playing with learning the basics of coding. Java is freely available, and Eclipse is a good IDE which is also free. There are plenty of tutorials available, as well as online communities where one can get a lot of info, just browsing around.

It's sometimes hard to tell sarcasm or irony over the internet. We don't have any sarky emoticons, do we?

Well, I did try to use the twisted one () for that purpose but it clearly didn't work, so I guess I have to agree with you.

RedMage, have you tried with RPG Maker? There is a lot of PC versions.

You can begin with a 2D RPG with this program. But, first you need to think about your storyline, characters, villains, bosses, and all that kind of RPG stuff.

You must try it. But if you don't want 2D games, then it's rubbish as you said :P

If you mean pen-and-paper RPG's, http://forum.rpg.net/index.php and http://www.enworld.org/forums.php? are both excellent resources, both for getting advice the equal of any paying course, floating ideas, and even selling your work in PDF format without ever needing to leave the house.

If you want to pick up some RPG's for cheap or free (for research, say), http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/ has a wide selection of (legal!) downloadable books for very reasonable prices. They also offered some free material (I picked up Fading Suns that way, though I can't find any in the current site.

However, one good old RPG that is avaliable free and legal is Witchcraft, at http://www.edenstudios.net/witchcraft/

Hope something in there helps. :)
