It's stereotyped to be about cleaning but people like me get it about lots of things. For example I've had it about needing to check my email every 5 minutes instead of paying attention to a TV show I'm really wanting to watch. I've had thoughts that wouldn't leave about my two ex girlfriends getting into trouble which caused me to get very controlling with them & wanting to know where they were & what they were doing at all times. I've reread posts I made like a 100x. I've had a bad obsession with porn & didn't even enjoy most of it; I would DLed it(hoard it), organize it, & share it.

I myself have Ocd and I usually only having a compulsion to clean if say, I have intrusive thoughts about bugs in my flat or that I'm going to pick up a bug because I have a severe phobia of vomiting, which can cause me to clean my hands a lot.
However there is much more involved with Ocd.
You can have horrific thoughts and images in your head of the worst thing you could possibly think of doing in that moment and you may feel like if you don't, check the oven a certain amount of times, your flat will burn down.
So sometimes a person may be standing at the oven trying to convince themselves that it is off and that if they leave, nothing will happen.
For me, trying to leave the house can take time and cause a lot of anxiety because I need to check everything is off. That the windows are shut and there is nothing near the other and it can take several minutes to convince myself the front door is locked.

Sorry. I hope this makes sense.
