I really want more friends in real life... But it seems I have a problem with continuing to try to be friendly to those I shouldn't associate with...

My uncle's roommate... Or maybe former roommate because now he's mostly over at his friend's house... Finally, he stopped the inuendos and sex talk... But why do I have the compulsion to still talk to him, a convicted child molester? Plus during his probation he wasn't supposed to be around this intellectually disabled man or people in general because as he put it "I've been accused of taking advantage of them" but now that he's off probation he practically lives with this man... Plus the whole story about taking advantage of the 65yo woman I witnessed...

Then there is my racist/compulsive liar neighbor...

And even my uncle... I keep trying to be friendly again...

It seems all my meaningful relationships are with people over the internet...

It’s just your luck that your circle of friends consists of the people you mentioned.

Once you get on your internship, you will get the opportunity to meet new people.

Everyone here on Earth is going through it, due to Covid, and many of us are feeling awful because of being unable to even casually chat on bus stops or stores.
People need each other, and those people are who you know.
