I have some more good news relating to the fire service

Last week I carried out the Rural Fire Pack Test to be able to go on deployments during the summer fire season.
The standard pack test is walking a 4.8km route in 45 minutes or less while wearing a 20.5kg weighted vest. I was told I had "absolutely smashed" my last time and did it this time in 42 minutes and 46 seconds.
So, now I have been officially ticked off and put on the deployment list for containment and mopping up around the Canterbury region and I will also be able to go on deployments around New Zealand if the need arises.
Let us see ... 4.8 km is roughly 3.0 miles ... 20.5 kg is about 45 lbs ... 45 minutes is around 3.1 centons ...
Wow! Congratulations!
