New series, "Resident Alien," about an alien who crash lands on Earth. He's a humanoid lizard who somehow transforms himself into looking human (after killing a man in a remote house). Apparently he assumes his identity (doctor). He learns how to speak by watching TV.
Without narrating the entire pilot episode, I'll just say he's ordered by the small-town sheriff to investigate a death in town. He spends only seconds viewing the body, says it was a suicide, then heads for the door to outside. Someone says, "Tell me you're not leaving already."
The human-looking alien replies in his rather monotone voice, "Okay, I won't," and heads outside.
This is just one of MANY examples that this guy is autistic AF. It's like almost every other line he says, a continuous dose of spectrum. I think I'm going to like this show.
The guy is blunt to the max, takes things literally, has no facial expression, etc.
EDIT --- I just googled this and the show's first season ran in '21 and has three seasons so far. My cable service says it's "new" and filmed in '25. Anyways, there are threads on reddit about this show and autism coding. So I guess I'm very late to the party.
