"Elon Musk is obsessed with America’s falling birth rate. Everyday Americans? Not so much."

Quote:
Tesla CEO Elon Musk is obsessed with America’s falling birth rate. In 2019, he predicted that “the biggest problem the world will face in 20 years is population collapse.” Just last month, he told Fox News it’s the main thing that “keeps him up at night.” And according to an April 15 report in the Wall Street Journal, Musk is personally using in vitro fertilization (IVF) to sire what he has described as a “legion” of children — at least 14 so far, with four different women — “before the apocalypse.”

“Low birth rates will end civilization,” the billionaire warned last week on X (which he owns).

Musk’s preoccupation is so intense — and his sway with President Trump so strong — that the White House is now reportedly considering various right-wing “pronatalist” policies to incentivize and encourage more births: $5,000 lump-sum “baby bonuses” for every American mother after delivery; government-funded programs to educate women on their menstrual cycles so they can better understand when they are able to conceive; even a “National Medal of Motherhood” for women with at least six children.
It's kind of a shame the U.S. can't produce enough new citizens and cannot find an alternative source of new citizens.

This could explain some of Musk's alleged plans to reduce the problem.

If fewer Americans are having kids, then the solution for the declining population would be...immigration. Which the MAGAs are trying to curtail.

Millennials and Gen Z could afford big families if the millionaires and billionaires and corporations would pay a living wage for once. Hate to say it but forgiving student loans could help the birth rate too. Nazi Germany also had their own award for mothers of big families. This reminds me of the Quiverfull Movement but the Quiverfull Movement is basically dead. Elon is a horrible dad.

It's ironic that so many political conservatives are natalists, while also desperately fighting to make it harder for regular people to be able to afford to reproduce.

Texasmoneyman hit the nail on the head.

White Nick Cannon (Elon) isn't going to solve this problem either.

It might surprise you that there are 10 countries who (in a bid to stem the tide of low birth rates) offer baby bonuses,

Australia included.

You have to understand Musk's motivation here is because he is a firm proponent of the great replacement theory whereby "desirable" white stock in western nations are being replaced by "less desirable" folks of the coloured persuasion. In Australia we have had several conservative politicians over the years. One of our former conservative state premier ministers by the name of Jeff Kennett made it his life mission

Countries do try, but from what I understand, it's usually not successful. Anybody that could be induced to have kids in that manner was probably already going to have kids or at very least wasn't choosing to use effective birth control.

I think we all know why it will never be successful now. But yes birth control was a big factor (good point) in the fall of birth rates from the 1960s.

Gee, I guess that's why Muskrat is trying to get as many women as pregnant as possible!

these bloodyminded sorts who insist on shoving square pegs through round holes just don't get the fact that the working class can't afford kids, and the middle class increasingly can't either. I have the bad feeling that if the handmaid's tale crowd takes over in full, orphanages are gonna be a growth field.

The right is obsessed with creating more American (white) babies, but refuse to take responsibility for providing enough money, food, clothing, and shelter for said children.
On top of that, the right refuses to acknowledge that being an American supersedes skin color or religion.

I think normally, they don't like to do IVF unless there's an actual problem. However, if you've go the cash, there are probably doctors that aren't going to expect that you're trying it the old fashioned way or trying IUI first.

They are and it's pretty stupid given that white is a pretty subjective term and it's pretty much inevitable that eventually most people will probably be a bit closer in skin color to what we see in the middle east as more and more people interbreed.

Regardless of how to achieve it, Musk is a man with real ideals.
The social system drives people to have fewer children to maintain the social status of the family. Paying money to encourage poor people to have children, or encouraging rich people to have children through surrogacy are both feasible. But the most radical approach I like is socialized upbringing: expand the function of schools and reduce the function of families to reduce the burden on parents.
