I have been excessively overweight for over a decade. I've always struggled with eating disorders, but Covid caused everything to get even worse. I have an abdominal hernia. And I noticed that my upper right abdomen is bulging outward, and there is pain and discomfort in that region.

A quick Google search led me to some ages about nonalcoholic steatohepatitis and metabolic-dysfunction associated steatohepatitis, which cause inflammation and damage to the liver, and can lead to cirrhosis or liver cancer.

That bulge and pain could be hernia-related, but with your history, liver issues like MASLD or NASH are real possibilities too. You need bloodwork and an ultrasound to know for sure, don’t rely on Google.

I did both and am waiting on the results. My bloodworm came back normal.

Upper right abdomen pain may be gallbladder issues.

Anyway, I hope it can be fixed.

I got my test results back, and they confirm I have a fatty liver.

I can tell the OP from my personal experience that fatty liver is fixable. I fixed it myself with diet and exercise. of course this was when I was 2 decades younger and less broken down than at present.

I don't know how old you are. I don't mean to ask if you're not comfortable disclosing it, but I don't know how your two decades ago relates to me. I'm 43, BTW.
