If you could experience an alternate reality, what would you want to experience? When and where would it take place? After experiencing this alternate reality, no matter what outcome it provides for you, you would return safely to the reality of your present existence.

So ... if someone would like to have experienced Medieval Europe during the Bubonic Plague, you could do so ... and whether you survived or not, you would reawaken in your current reality of now.

I'd love to go to America in the 1800s and marry Stephen Foster.

Stephen Foster died way too young. Good choice for an alternate reality.

Oh yes, I would have made him live longer by giving him all the love I could.

Sorry, I just love him so, so much.

A reality where my parents are very capable of building the best version of myself.

None of that inner work and psych-undoing needed; I'd just be a kid who would do as I would, a teen who would do as I would've, as an adult who will do as I would -- all of that, none of that emotional detouring, none of that annoying habits from coping for decades crap.

None of that childhood and teenage years of helplessness surrounded by clueless and ignorant people who "knew better had to depend on", just to wait for myself to be an adult and do the whole undoing myself.

And when I go back to my current reality, I'd bring every insight I had gained from the alternative reality and apply it into my current present reality.

I swear, I never heard about this getleman until now. 8O He died in extreme poverty according to what the net claims... the same as it was with our poet Cyprian Kamil Norwid https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyprian_Norwid He got completely forgotten after his death but now his poems are discussed in Polish schools. He's very well known.

An alternate reality where my dad got through his treatments without any problems.

He passed the day after I turned 12 at the age of 43.

Had he managed to get through his treatments without any problems, he would be 66 this year.

Sometimes I have dreams where I see a "present-day version" of him but different, such as thinning gray hair, glasses, more facial hair or struggling to maintain a good physical well-being despite his love for Mountain Dew and supporting groups that focus on protecting the environment. Weight issues do run in The Anonymous Household to this day.

The first years of broadcast television in Germany in the 1930s. I love those old German sets.

Great answer. I would say the same.

I'd love to live in a world where I think/act/behave exactly as I do now, but am actually socially accepted by the majority of people instead of hated (the way I am in this reality). Basically, having an NT social life while still being my autistic self.
