Windows 10 has just gone out of support from Microsoft. I'm intending to continue using it for at least another 18 months, so have installed Bitdefender Free security system. Not familiar with this, have previously used Avast on obsolete operating systems, but it has very positive reviews.

The only warnings I've received so far are about - you've guessed it! - WP. This involved the games page for heaven's sake (Off The Wall). I'm not taking this seriously, but does anyone think I should?

Might be more useful if "detected with suspicious activity" was defined.
Is it possible to find more information about this?

With such a vague description about supposed behavior, as opposed to detected malware, I wouldn't take it very seriously.

Alternatively, does Bitdefender have some means of whitelisting a page or site?

I can't find any details of the 'suspicious activity'. I'm given the option to 'add to exceptions', which I assume is some kind of 'whitelisting'.

Yep, that's whitelisting.

Given the weak definition I think that would be a workable solution.
A more serious/specific warning might be a different issue.

I wonder if the warning was related to a specific ad on the page. I use ad-blockers but I noticed I'm more likely to get Norton warnings on various sites when the ad-blockers are not enabled. In the past some of the ads on WP were flashing &/or moving & those types in general are more likely to trigger warnings. I know WP gets money from advertising but the flasing & moving ads were why I keep my ad-blockers enabled on here.

That's possible, I guess, but when anti-malware software starts issuing alerts on the type of ads used I think it's acting outside its remit. Certain types of ads might be more associated with types of malware, but I feel that alerts should be raised only for specific and identifiable issues.
I mean, "detected with suspicious activity" is alarming, undefined and useless.

Likewise, I implement ad-blockers everywhere.

^I agree about alerts. I'm not as good with tech as most people my age(in the US anyways) but I still want the warnings to give me an idea of what might be going on. I want info so I can decide for myself if there might be real risks or not.
