basically i contend that the difference between asperger's or "high-functioning" & "low-functioning" is the privilege to "pass" as NT

this is inherently political

Interesting reference from substack . And I think possibly more insight is needed,regarding the the concept of passing
could have been included . Idiosyncracies of variations of levels of Autism,notwithstanding .The issues of Human Nature of the NT part of society might preclude these concepts ,he alludes to at the end of that substack post. But it does bring attention to the concepts of discrimination , currently and
the ideas of possible but doubtful ,progression of human consideration . Idealistically he is writing from a hopeful mindset (and in the realm of our current level of humanity ). Yet Not probable growth of human conciousness. Considering differences in the current reality of society ,here in the USA, supposably the center of Human growth and potentiality.
"Am writing from a very literal Point of view" apologies if response lacks enough clarity for readability.

"Passing" has always been connected to "privilege". It means you have family who will support you physically, socially, medically, financially, and by helping to mask your "deviance". (Not to mention posting bail.) That said, some kinds of "difference" make it more challenging to survive on this planet than others.
