The results seems conclusive evidence the above is true, problem is exit polling showed Jews voting massively for Cuomo two to one according to CNN and 70-30 according to NBC. It strains credulity to think affordability is so much less important to Jews.
But aren't anti-Zionist Jews predominantly young? Ditto for Jews who aren't anti-Zionist but highly critical of Israel?
It should be noted that those Jews who are most concerned about affordability are also likely to be predominantly young. Older Jews are much more likely to be middle-class homeowners. Correct?
So my guess is that support for Cuomo would likely be at least 90% among middle-aged and older Jews, but much less among younger Jews.
Probably to a majority of Jews, but a much smaller majority among younger Jews than among older Jews. Correct?
Even 11 percent is still pretty large, compared to most of the many different ethnic groups in NYC.
Yep, there are.
Generation gap is very real, more so then the 1960s when the term came into being. So probably the exit polls will be reversed in 2050.
11 percent is still pretty large but not nearly as decisive election wise. I had in mind the change in demographics is a more logical explanation then a tsunami of antisemitism.

Jewish exodus from NYC? Rabbi plans Jewish school in Hamptons after Mamdani’s victory
In a post on X, Schneier wrote: “With the news of @ZohranKMamdani mayoral victory, I am announcing plans for the building of the first Jewish day school in the Hamptons. This is in anticipation of the thousands of Jewish families that will flock to the Hamptons and greater Suffolk County to escape the antisemitic climate of Mamdani’s New York City.” Schneier is the founding rabbi of The Hampton Synagogue in Westhampton Beach.
While some people will leave, I doubt there is going to be a mass exodus. I have been hearing people who supported election losers saying they are going to leave as long as I can remember. These things are said in the emotions of the moment, then reality strikes. Moving is a time-consuming process. If you are used to city living Long Island is going to be boring. If there is a significant number of people that do move, the place you are leaving will drop in value and prices will rise in the area you want to buy.

.... unless there is also a similarly significant number of refugees from MAGA-land moving into NYC. That might happen too.

“This is a disgusting and heartbreaking act of antisemitism, and it has no place in our beautiful city,” Mamdani wrote in a statement on the social platform X.
“As Mayor, I will always stand steadfast with our Jewish neighbors to root the scourge of antisemitism out of our city,” he added.
The discussion of antisemitism has grown recently. Earlier this year, there was a swastika plastered on a GOP headquarters site in Albany, N.Y., and, in October, a Young Republican group chat was revealed to feature messages lauding Nazi Germany and Hitler.
During his victory speech, Mamdani pledged to protect New Yorkers of all faiths while railing against antisemitism.
“We will build a city hall that stands steadfast alongside Jewish New Yorkers and does not waver in the fight against the scourge of antisemitism, where the more than 1 million Muslims know that they belong, not just in the five boroughs of this city, but in the halls of power,” he said.
“No more will New York be a city where you can traffic in Islamophobia and win an election.”
“This new age will be defined by a competence and the compassion that have too long been placed at odds with one another,” he added.
Zohran Mamdani’s all-female transition team features familiar names
The group he introduced, however, includes some familiar names — veterans of New York’s current and previous Democratic mayoral administrations, as well as that of former President Joe Biden.

I heard a rumor on youtube that people who voted him in were also Trump voters and Republicans. I guess Trump had pissed off enough people that every Democrat won in every state. The Trumplicans were freaking out when Mamdani won. He won because of Trump's BS. People are tired of prices going up but not their wages and NYC is so expensive I wonder how people afford to live there.

OP’s Note:
This thread is being locked at my request because the election is over.
I am sure there will be a lot more to post about Mamdani. I am not exactly sure in what context yet. I will let events determine that.
