I love music, both making it and listening to it, but I noticed most of the threads on this board are about the listening aspect, so I decided to make a thread about creating your own music. Also, I just finished another track and uploaded it to my BandCamp, so this is kind of on my mind right now. This thread is for all you autistic music composers out there, whether your music is acoustic, electronic, or a mix of both. What are you guys working on right now? What genres do you work in, and what are your favorite parts of the music creation process?

I finished a two act musical this past summer. I am currently doing some touch-up editing to it. I have written around 24 songs for it. I have the lead lines, chords, and lyrics for them, but I need to get the arranging done for the instrumentation. The genres for the musical include some circusy numbers, pop, and the typical Broadway style. The orchestration could include keyboards as well as more traditional instruments.

The question now is -- what do I do with this mammoth piece of work? It is a hundred pages long -- accounting for a production of almost two hours. Though the cast could be decreased (be eliminating some ensemble) it is currently set for 28 actors (ten of them ensemble and four understudies).

I have dedicated years of my life to writing this thing (though I haven't labored over it every day of my life). I have scrutinized it objectively, and I truly believe it is an excellent musical. I have tried others -- and I abandoned them because I felt like they were less than very good.

Now what?
