There once was a strange little German man who was largely built. He wasn't like other people born in Canada. He listened to polka and traditional German music. He wasn't much for rock n roll, but he did listen to a song by The Kinks here and there. He also ate a diet rich in meat, potatoes and sauerkraut. He cheered for Canada when the Olympics were on while secretly wanting Germany to win the gold medals. He said that his favourite colours were pea green and electric blue to be part of the crowd. His favourite colours were really black, red and yellow. He had a really hard time transitioning from the month of October because Oktoberfest was one of his favourite things. He loved October so much that he wore his Alpine hat all year round. He even bought himself a lederhosen, even though his laptop was on the fritz on Canada Day. He was very emotional, as a lot of Germans are. He cried easily. He was happy most of the time, though.

Germans are stereotyped as being icy cold, but that's probably the root of their emotionality, as that pent of rage and grief has to eventually release.
Incidentally, my family is very German, and so I only report what I've observed in family, and myself.

Its gotta be difficult Secretly rooting for Germany , when Canada plays,, and in defference to October fest. Have been to many American Areas where Germans had settled and done there towns up in the architecture to look like little, some not so little ,Alpine Villages, which do celebrate Octoberfest ..If for no other reason , just to get the tourist crowd,Strudel and beer , and everything, Once such place in Northern California is called Solvang, and yet another in southern California near the city of Torrance . Been to both , had great fun. Both times by myself .And read of even another up North near the Canadian border I really do think these somewhat Ethnically German tourist attractions// businesses pop up all over the Western world .Trying to be resort like places to visit.
Take care my little Sweet Pea
