SpongeBob SquarePants was one of MANY things that initially brought us together

Now because of what happened to David, it's going to be hard to continue watching/supporting the show!! !

Therefore, I feel the time has come where I must part ways with the yellow sponge and I can utilize David's loss as the motive that will eventually allow me to stop watching SpongeBob!

What do you guys think?

Resistance is futile the lure of spongebob is too great, that theme tune calls to you like a siren's song, you'll hear it in the wind. That cartoon sponge has your heart by the gonads. Until you happen to find a new favourite TV show, that is. In all honesty you can always make the show your own again and divorce it from the David association, you liked it before you met him didn't you? Watch it alone or with different people. I don't realistically see you quitting spogebob any time soon and I think you'd be unhappy for trying.

Yep it is true!! !

Really even with David's loss the only way to actually give up the show is by something terrible happening within the production (retirement/death of voice actors, sexual abuse allegations, loss of footage etc) but I feel I am in too deep because of the Sunk-Cost Fallacy...

If you love watching the sponge you cannot allow that fool David to take SpongeBob away from you too. He doesn't deserve to have that much power over you.

I can understand taking a little break if you need it, I do the same sometimes. (I love the sponge too) Just make sure the break is on your terms and for your mental/emotional benefit.

David was a truly good man & I miss him deeply! !!

The thing is with SpongeBob SquarePants I have been wanting to give it up for a VERY LONG TIME even before I met and started dating David!

I hate how the show is still continuing to stay relevant with no end in sight and at this point is just bogging down Nickelodeon

So I cannot continue to support a cartoon that IMHO has not only overstayed its welcome but has also become a parasitic leech! !!

My brother thinks they are keeping the show around for contractual obligations like there is something written in the contract that says they MUST keep it going until a specified time

Could he be right?

And what is the "specified time"?

Is something terrible going to happen to the show's production that will cause it to come to a complete halt?!?

You can do it! We believe in you! Maybe you can take up some other dignified hobby, like pruning Bonsai trees or something.
